The WSHT FG/FC Series Spiral Classifier is a mechanical wet classification machine designed for closed-circuit grinding operations and material washing in mineral processing plants. Using the principle of differential settling in an inclined trough with rotating spiral rakes, it provides efficient size classification, desliming, and dewatering of mineral slurries. The spiral classifier is a traditional but highly reliable alternative to hydrocyclones, particularly suitable for coarse classification and applications requiring gentle handling of materials.

Technical Specifications

Working Principle

The spiral classifier operates in an inclined trough where feed slurry is introduced at the mid-point. Heavier and coarser particles settle to the bottom and are conveyed upward along the trough incline by the rotating spiral rakes, emerging as dewatered sand product at the top. Finer and lighter particles remain suspended in the overflowing slurry and discharge over the weir at the lower end as overflow (fines product). The separation cut size is controlled by adjusting weir height, spiral speed, and trough inclination angle.
