Project Overview

WSHT completed a major modernization of a copper ore crushing circuit for a mining company in Peru. The project increased plant capacity from 35,000 to 45,000 tpd while improving equipment reliability and reducing operating costs.

Modernization Scope

Equipment Upgrades:

• New primary gyratory crusher (40-110HD)
• Replacement of older cone crushers with high-capacity units
• New triple-deck screens with premium media
• Upgraded conveyor system with wider belts

Automation Improvements:

• New PLC control system
• Integration with mine-wide SCADA
• Remote monitoring and diagnostics
• Automatic CSS adjustment system

Results

• Capacity increase: 35,000 → 45,000 tpd (29% improvement)
• Operating cost reduction: 18%
• Equipment availability: 94%
